Yamagata Prefecture is a place where many delicious crops grow.
On the Sea of japan side of Yamagata Prefecture, there is a series of sand dunes that are the
longest in japan and are said to be one of the three largest sand dunes in Japan.

The Shonai dunes spread out against the backdrop of
beautiful mountain "Chokaisan" and beach forest "Kuromatsu-bayashi".

It is reconaized as one of the leading melon growing areas in Japan.

These delichious melons are grown in one of japan's leading melon production area.

In midsummer, the days are hot and sunny, while the nights are much cooler due
to the wind from the sea.
This temperature difference produces rich and sweet melons.

Shonai melons are a specialty of Shonai region of Yamagata Prefecture, which
boasts an overwhelming amount of shipments during the season.

It is very popular for its strong sweetness, fresh pulp, rich taste of melon.
The texture of the pulp is very soft.
You can enjoy that exceptional flavor, and thirst quenching.
